Tour details
The meeting point is at the bus station in the waterside (IJside) of the Amsterdam Central Station.
The tour price includes transport (bus, boat) coffee and picnic lunch.
2 Euros donation for Landschap Noord Holland organization will be added to the total price.
Wetlands Safari
Wetlands Safari is an active nature excursion just 15 minutes from Amsterdam. The tour starts at a small village with typical Dutch farmhouses. In canoes, you will explore far into the moorland meadows. We will have a picnic on the way and go for a small walk in the reed lands. On a sunny day, you can go for a swim in a lake. An expert guide will inform you about the plants, wildlife and the origins of this special landscape. This landscape inspired famous Dutch painters, such as Rembrandt and Ruysdael, back in Holland's Golden Age. So turn your back to Amsterdam and enjoy the wetlands of Waterland!
The trip lasts approximately 5 hours. You will meet your guide behind Amsterdam Central Station. Together you will go by bus to Watergang village. First we have a little coffee brake and then start canoeing. There will be several stops and we have a picnic on the way. The canoe tour is roughly 3hrs.
Participant guidelines
You don't need to have any canoe experience as we will explain everything before starting the tour.
Wear comfortable outdoor clothes. Your shoes will get wet and dirty. When it is sunny bring your swim gear and when it is overcast don't forget to bring your raincoat.
